Hello- New to this forum but this sounds like exactly what is going on with my 2006 S60 T5. My wife will drive it to work in the morning and then like clockwork at lunch it will sputter and not start and the second time it will start up. I had an 2006 until this past weekend. As far as safey, EXCELLENT. I was hit from behind going 70mph on the interstate by a van traveling 80+mph I spun into an SUV and then spun off the road - nobody hurt thankfully. I never rolled, had no injuries at all. My car looked pretty good considering. I spun off the road in it in the winter going 60 and it handled great, no damage. ... Read More...

Popping Sound In Driver's Seat

I own a 2006 Volvo S60 T5 and am continuing to have a problem with a popping sound in the driver's seat....especially when making turns, accelerating, or braking. The dealer said they had fixed it with a TSB for the WHIPS system. The "fix" worked for about a week and then it was right back to making the popping sound. I have a 2006 S60 T5. I bought it for the seats because I have a bad back. I'd love Volvo to have automated the lumbar support like they did the other adjustments - will they? I don't know what the MPG is per Volvo, but I live in LA and do mostly city driving i.e., 10-30 mph most of the time. My MPG is averaging 16-17. No matter what gasoline grade I put in. Hi folks, Just purchased a 2006 Volvo as above. Formerly a VOLVO UK owned car and has a mere 6500 miles on it. It has the D5 2.4 ltr 185bhp diesel mated to the 6-spd Geartronic and all the usual toys and a wonderful sound system, (for a standard fit). Hi, Kasperghost (and anyone else who knows)... I wanted your advice. I've got a 2006 S60 T5 and according to my trip monitor, I'm averaging 17-19mpg. (The car has 15,000 miles on it - I bought it used from a dealer in May 06 at 7700 miles. The dealer had put it on the road in Dec 05.) I do all city (Los Angeles) driving, not much freeway though. My wife drives a 2006 S60 AWD 2.5T and I have a 2006 A4 2.0T quattro auto. I'm not sure how they market these cars (as in suggesting they should compete with one another), but they are markedly different from one another.
