Re: HONDA PAX tires-how to change [jcchevy]
by dml247 on Thu Jul 09 07:07:01 PDT 2009
I'm sure this is posted elsewhere on this site, but just to make sure people see it, I'll post it here too. There is a lawsuit that owners of Odyssey's with PAX tires can get in on here. (Or google "honda pax lawsuit".) It isn't perfect, but at least you'll get something from them. If you want to de-PAX, then talk to your local tire shop. They most likely can help you if they really want your business. The trick seems to be removing the old tire and reusing the tire pressure gauge sensors on the new rims. Again, any tire shop worth their sweat will do this. Skip the Firestone or Sears stores, they probably won't touch it. Go to the independent guy.
2009 Maxima Rebates?
by smarty666 on Tue Jul 07 17:37:37 PDT 2009
I currently drive a 2008 TL which I love and my Dad has been shopping around for a 2009 Maxima SV for himself. A lot of people on hear have been saying Nissan has been given large rebates which have what helped to sell the cars. I don't know if it is the area of the country but hear in the Mid-Atlantic area, PA, NJ, DE, and MD we have been to five different Nissan dealers shopping for prices and all the salesman have said there are no rebates on the Maxima right now because they are selling really well without them and each dealer we have been to is selling 10-12 max's a week; my Dad has had a really hard time getting a good deal because they are selling so well so I'd love to know where these rebates are so I can tell my Dad!!!!
2010 EX-L price help!!
by dsmguy on Tue Jul 07 11:03:23 PDT 2009
After looking at the Sienna’s and not really liking the dealer much (Toyota of Des Moines – Iowa), we’ve decided on taking a look at the Honda Odyssey’s. We’ve looked at a 2010 EX-L. The MSRP is $33,155 and with dest. Charge, it comes to $33,865. No additional accessories. Anyone know of a good price to offer on this? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks in advance.
Quote for 2009 Honda CR-V LX 2WD
by crv1234 on Sat Jul 04 19:00:59 PDT 2009
The lowest quote for 2009 Honda CR-V LX 2WD I got today is $19500 (including des. fee), not including TTL. I'm in California. The total fee including the title and license fee and all other fees excluding the documentation fee is about $325. Am I getting a good price? Is the $325 a right figure? The documentation fee is $55. Besides, I was told that the CA state tax would also be charged on the documentation fee. Is that a right charge?
Greetings from Seattle!

What a coincidence! Len asks where I am on the last post as I try to catch up reading the various posts lately. Before I go any further, I am also happy to see that Dewey is alive and well with a spanking new Prius. I'm sure you won't regret it, Dewey. We just got back to Seattle from a few days at Lake Quinault on the southern edge of the Olympic National Forest in the Olympic Peninsula. I had no Internet access there and it was great being in the wilderness for a bit. We have had a family reunion here in Seattle area the past 7 days. My son and his wife live here and our daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter met us here from Detroit. It has been wonderful. We are heading back home to IA on Sunday and guess what is waiting for us in our garage. Yes, you guessed it. It is the 2010 RX450h. It arrived at the Dealer in Des Moines two days prior to our flight to Seattle. The dealer got it prepped in record time and we brought it home on Thursday evening (we left for Seattle very early Friday morning, June 26). I drove it and played around with it for a bit, but there was so many new bells and whistles on it that I just began to scratch the surface. The salesman will spend a couple hours with us this Monday and show us everything about the car. I loved what I have seen in the very brief time that I had to play around with it. It is quieter, more comfortable, more powerful, and just plain more luxurious than its predecessor (RX400h). Best of all, it is much more fuel efficient. I got a bit more than 30mpg test driving it about 35 miles around town and some Interstate. But, for about a half hour, prior to the test it was idling in the driveway for a half hour while I was trying to activate XM radio on it. I am quite confident that this new generation RX will get mileage up into the high 30s if one is careful and drives it in the Eco Mode. The new navigation system is awesome on this car. We ordered the car with all the options except for the rear seat entertainment system. Among other options, it has the radar cruise, side view monitor, auto high beam, heads up display (great feature), window breakage warning system, remote starter, etc., etc., etc. I will try and post some photos of it after we get back home. This car will be a lot of fun taking it on long trips. BTW, ours was the very first one to arrive in IA. The dealer did not even have a demo prior to our trip to Seattle and they still may not have one now. I know that some of you do not think very highly of the new RX, but as Len says, it makes no difference to me. This is what my wife and I wanted. Len, I am thinking that this is the start of a big down move in the crude oil market.
