Re: 2007 Grand Prix Fire [gtp03daw]
On friday feb the 13th my father came home from work around 5:45 pm parked his 1997 pontiac grand prix 3800 not supercharged in the garage and went in to shower.By 5:55 the whole garage was in flames. It took the fire dept. about 4 full hour to put it out. Now the thing that I can't understand is how GM could only inform owners of the supercharged GTPs and not the owners ... Read More...
2005 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP
On October 20, 2007, I bought a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix in which within three weeks of purchasing the car I had to take it back to the dealership three times. The steering wheel was shaking when slow down, the front end of the car felt like it was going to come apart and since I didn't know anything about it, they told me it was fixed the first time. I took a trip to a different ... Read More...
2007 grand prix gxp brake issue
For those considering the purchase of a gxp or any other pontiac sedan, Beware!! I just had the misfortune of taking in the wifes car for what i assumed was warranty work. 21.000 miles and both front and rear brakes were shot, rear pads nearly to the rotors and in the case of the fronts, right pad completely gone. 25 years of doing business with this dealership (Waldecker ... 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix fire
I am also one of the unlucky owners of a Pontiac which caught fire. Mine occurred last year (Aug 2007). It was a total loss. Unfortunately I did not have fire insurance. I received recall notice in March of this year. I called GM and have since been bounced thru two different representatives. Has anyone been lucky enough to get compensated? Read More...
Pontiac Grand Prix Tires and Wheels
No traction
I recently purchased my first Pontiac. It's a 2007 Grand Prix GT with 17,500 miles on it. Within a few days of my purchase, we had snow. I was terrified after a few moments on the road, because I started sliding EXTREMELY EASILY. I have always driven smaller cars, and I realize I am unused to a car the size of the GP which I now refer to as my death trap!! I have driven on ... Read More...
Pontiac Grand Prix: Real World MPG
Re: Pontiac Grand Prix: Real World MPG [bond007mgm]
I've got a 2007 GP GT, 7000 miles. When it was "brand new, fresh from dealer" and less than 2000 miles, we had one tank of gas--Albuquerque to Farmington--that we got 32+, hand calculated--not DIC readout. Average speed was 65 mph. We continue to get excellent mileage when out on open roads. Read More...

2000 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP 2dr ENGINE FIRE
I bought an ENGINE FIRE 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP 2dr from a salvage auction on 4/30/2007. It only has 77,284 ACTUAL miles. Appears to be a all-stock, well cared for, garage kept "cream puff" car. The engine fire was put out with a fire extinguisher pretty early. I emailed "tommy231" an engine pic. The only damage noticeable from the outside of the car is a palm ... Read More...
2000 Grand Prix GTP Engine Fire
My Pontiac caught fire on January 26, 2007 in my work parking lot. I had been there about 15 minutes when someone told me my car was on fire. The car drove fine before then and was well maintained. It was a total loss. Does anyone know if NHTSA or GM is still investigating this matter? It is amazing that GM is not willing to do anything after all the fires that have happened. Read More...
