Pontiac G8 Prices Paid and Buying Experience

Re: depreciation on GT [rk2469]

I believe these percentages are off of MSRP, not including rebates & discount, although that can make a huge difference. What matters to the buyer is what the car is worth down the road vs. actual purchase price. You can spend all day running different numbers, but here's a brief example using my notes from when I purchased my G8, and current trade values from KBB ... Read More...

Re: G8 = Sports Sedan ?? Re: Too Few Choices [rayainsw]

" go to your library and read the last 10 years of Road & Track and Car and Driver. And I pretty much won't consider the G8 GT a proper sports sedan, until they offer it with a manual transmission. " From Googling: "sport truck is nearly identical to the G8 sports sedan." http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/hot_lists/high_performance/features_classic_- ... Read More...

THOUGHTS/SUGGESTIONS FOR G8 GT

I just bought a new 2009 G8 GT. I traded in my 2008 3.5 Nissan Altima...an impulse buy to be sure as I had owed $9500 and would be done in paying off in about 20 months. I got what I think was a very good deal but that is not what I want to talk about. First off, I couldn't be happier with this car. It is very comfortable, looks great (classy yet aggressive for my 41 year old styling) ... Read More...

Pontiac G8 Prices Paid and Buying Experience

Traded my BMW for a new G8 GT

My 2005 BMW 330i warranty was going to expire at the end of January, so last Saturday I asked two local Pontiac dealers and one Infiniti dealer for their best out-the-door price with trade. The final offers were $16,222.30 for a 2008 white sport premium G35 with a $37,475 MSRP $13,289.38 for a 2009 white sport premium G8 GT with a $33,210 MSRP, and $11,500 for a 2009 ... Read More...

Re: You don't get it [mrpushrod]

Hopefully, only the American dealers that treat customers right survive...not the ones you need to hold ransome to get a fair price. The G8 is fine but it's still an American car whose value will deteriorate $7k as you drive it off the lot. Here's the RTS price. Mr.P, I'll bet you paid more! 2008 Pontiac G8 Sedan MSRP: $29,995.00 Red Tag Price: $29,044.46 Total Cash ... Read More...

Article Comments - 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo MR vs. 2009 Pontiac G8 GXP

We're playing follow-the-leader in the 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution MR and the 2009 Pontiac G8 GXP. At the word "go," the heavy-lidded gaze of the G8's front fascia suddenly swells up in the Evo's rearview mirror. The sound of a rip-snorting V8 gains urgency before crowding and then finally overwhelming the Evo's tepid turbocharged whoosh as the G8 elbows ... Read More...

Re: MPG [paisan]

Heck ya! You can get a G8 for literally dirt cheap on Ebay! Loaded V8's. Or a base model G8 for about $15k. Thats great! Why in the world would one buy a G6 when you can get a loaded or similarly featured car for less. Though, you can get a G6 for cheap too! Like new 2008 models. I would certainly pick a G8 over the G6 today. Though this is a real bummer about the market values ... Read More...

Bought one ( Helping the economy & GM )

First – a sincere “Thank You” to those who have posted useful information here over the past several months, as I considered a G8 GT purchase. I appreciate you taking the time to post and specifically for answering several of my questions. Executive summary: This is as close to a ( reasonably priced ) 4-door Corvette as I see available today. With just over 2 years ... Read More...
