I got this truck from my grandmother after my grandfather passed away. I used it for 2 years then put it in the back yard when I bought my 02 Ford Focus. I never had a problem with the truck but had constant problems with the car. I joined the navy a year ago and sold the car because I wouldn't need it. I just got back home and went to my grandmothers house and saw my old truck back there and offered to buy it again from her because it was so great. I only have to replace a battery and after all the years it hasn't been run I started it up and she runs great. I also had a flowmaster exhaust put on her and boy does she purrrr. I love this thing.
Favorite Features
The fact that this thing is a tank and runs forever. It is also a smooth ride and decent on gas.

I loved this truck from day one. I need to write a review now that I had to get a diffrent one. My family grew. Where can you find a truck that gets 18-19mpg at 85mph & get 17.5mpg pulling 1500lbs and I've put about 1700Ibs in the bed and still have alot of power if the ac is on? This Dakota you'll find it.The 318 I think is was ahead of it's time. It is one my favorite motors I have ever had. The 5 speed manual is great as well. This truck handles just great. It went up against every task I asked of it and never broke down. It was very compfortable as well. I rode in a Galant and when I got back in my truck it was like sitting on the couch again. I truly loved this truck.
Favorite Features
318 motor, 5 speed, 4x4, compfort, payload. Sweet truck
Suggested Improvements
The only complaint I had was in the snow the ABS wasn't very good. That was it.

I bought this truck when it had 82300. I loved it. I have sold because we had a baby. But I really enjoyed it. I had the 5.2 with 5speed manual. It had a lot of power for the truck. Gas mileage was great. It would get 20 on the highway easy if empty. I towed a trailer and had a load total of about 1200 to 1500 pounds. I drove 240 miles at 75 to 85 and it still pulled out 17.5 mpg. You don't find that very often. Just be sure to take care of it and it'll take care of you. My first problem was at125k with a fuel pump, than after that at146k. But over all a awesome truck! This truck was one of my very favorites. You'll enjoy it!
Favorite Features
5.2 V8 5speed, payload 2000 pounds, gas mileage, 4x4 great traction in winter

I purchased this truck from a co-worker who had it brand new from the dealer. I had a 1988 LE and loved it except for the lousy leg room. With the extended cab, I am comfortable and secure in it at all times. the V6 has all the power i need and then some!
Favorite Features
I like the extended cab for the leg room and room for my grandsons to sit behind me in comfort, as well as the stow and go compartments to hide things
Suggested Improvements
It needs a paint job bad, as someone egged it and ruined the paint. The rear bumper seems to rust out really quickly, like my 88 did, but overall, it's a Dodge!
Gonna miss my Dodge

This was a great truck. I bought it with 65,000 miles on it from a private owner here in Michigan and it may have been the best vehicle I have ever owned. Finally, at 152,000 miles, the repair to the main oil seal and other small stuff it needs are too much for the value of the truck. Time to put her out to pasture.
Favorite Features
Radio system, power accessories, and storage under the rear seats.
