Has anybody bought one of these recently and what sort of discounts are out there. I've seen tons of these at the dealer lots in and around Austin, Tx and some reasonable deals on Ebay but wanted to know if anyone here has bought one recently. Thank you.

I picked up my 2008 Outlander SE with nav and deflectors on Thursday, after waiting about 3 weeks for it to come in. Purchased by local dealer in San Angelo, Texas (Randall Mitsu). I test drove the Outlander and the Endeavor. Wife liked the larger size of the Endeavor, but I liked the tech, looks, size, etc, of the Outlander. Since this was a replacement for my car, a 95 Galant, the boss let me get the Outie :) I used my bank's car buying service, and contacted Gillman Mitsu in San Antonio. Worked with Jason there, very friendly, but he just didnt have the SE models. My local dealer, Randall Mitsu, didnt have them either, but said they would accept my bank's price, and would work with me. After a delay or 2 in getting the model I wanted, it arrived. Local guys actually had to do a dealer swap with Don Herring in Irving, TX. I had the Mitsu loyalty discount ($500) and military discount ($500). With taxes, title, and license, the driveaway price was a tick under $25K. Exact price via buying service When we went to pick it up, we went into the financer's office, and were out in about 30min, even with 3 kiddos in there. We were on the road, pulled all the junk out of the Galant, and driving our new vehicle in about an hour. Plenty of prep via email, phone calls, and continuous good communication with Randall Mitsu made for a pleasant transaction. We didnt get the deflectors, yet, but they will call when they get them in. I also asked for a price on the 3rd row seat, as our SE has the storage instead of the seat. We figure the seat might be helpful for us, with the kiddos. If anyone wants to consider trading their seat for the storage, feel free to contact me at steve at zacharoo dot com. Regards, Steve Pics of my 08 Outie SE

Fully loaded XLS AWD (Navi,Lux pkg, sound system, etc.) black pearl with trailer hitch and harness installed. 31,095 we paid 29500. Included lifetime tires too, provided all oil changes and tire rotations completed per mfgr intervals. Im good with that, their oil changes are $24. Overall buying experience was good. Our salesman was honest and forward with us. We had to go in a few times because the deal wasnt good enough for us,but it was understandable-the dealership still hasnt gotten another 4wd XLS in yet. It was basically their flagship car and we wanted it for nothing. :) Id go back for another vehicle there in a heartbeat. I traded in my Evo 8 and her Galant so my wife could have this thing free and clear of payments. Im looking forward to the Evo X. My Evo 8 was the most trouble free car Ive owned and I beat it mercilessly, including an all day track event. We love our Outlander, what a car for the price!

Hi MrMister, You are correct about the invoice price, $27,277. $25,777 then with a $1500 down payment. Lease rate of .0027 though I believe, not .00327. Also, I didn't need a security deposit because I have the highest credit score possible, so that put me in their so-called "Tier 1" category which doesn't require a deposit. I corrected them on that because they "misread" it. The residual value of the truck is actually $16,090.25. I elected to pay the bank's acquisition fee of $595 up front rather than finance it. So that brought my total payment up front (minus sales tax) to $2095.00. Sales tax was minimal because I traded in my old lease vehicle, which saves such tax (you pay sales tax only on the difference between the selling/buyout prices of both vehicles). My monthly payment is below $295/month. Hope this helps. Kristina

Thanks mrmister2000, it really is awesome. I think I recall you mentioning you qualify for the Education Edge discount too, go for it! I also got 1000 lease cash due to a current lease incentive, so i got basically $1500 knocked off an already low invoice price. 36 month lease, and used my currently ending 2004 civic lease as a trade in to save on sales tax. :)
