Just bought a 08 Sedona lx, with power sliding doors, MSRP $25,890, $5,000 off factory rebate, $1,000 off Christmas special, $1,000 off dealer special, $2,000 off POS Dodge Neon trade in, final price $16,890, not including tax, tags, etc We found a similarly equipped Chrysler Town and Country for $35,000 MSRP and Odys and Siennas in the high $20s with no where near the rebates offered at Kia. Plus we are pleasantly surprised at the power and the 5 star safety ratings of the Kia. Plenty of room and storage compartments galore!

as of this writing, talked to a few dealers, that would go down from the $21,780 on the Kia Sedona LX Base to $20,990 and then because of the $5000 cash back rebate, if you applied that to the price, you get $15,990 + TTL + doc prep (aka "dealer profit") fee. If the doc prep/dealer profit fee isn't too bad, thats about as good as it gets. I mean, at least I called all over the place, and most dealers insisted that they were going to include various fee's and options that I didn't want. I only found a few that would really sell the car at this price. Even carsdirect.com came back at $16400 in my area, allthough they are doing the deal at $15990 in the Los Angeles area. Its definately a standard low end price, but...I searched for three weeks and didn't find anyone to beat it, and I contacted about a dozen dealerships.

I'm in Tampa, FL. I have sent email inquires to other Kia dealers in the area, and they have already started to call. It makes it harder that I have a trade, but I'm going to get a price first before going in with my trade.

2008 Optima EX V6

My parents are being offered 19,900 for a 2008 EX V6 with Sunroof, leather, ESC package. MSRP 23,900. 3500 off in rebates and another 500 just to hit my mom's goal of being under 20K. Are there any other incentives out there we don't know about? Any more wiggle room in KIA? They're not into haggling. But its a bit more car than they wanted. They just wanted a sunroof and the ESC. But colors etc. are hard to find these days.

If you like the V6 (I don't), you should be able to negotiate an extremely good deal on a 2 year old car. My problems with the V6: 1. Timing belt to replace. 2. Not much more power than the four. 3. Poorer gas mileage. Make 'em an offer of under $14K on it and see if they take it. Can't do any harm. I haven't checked the price of a used EX (say with 5K mileage) on Edmunds. See what that would bring and offer it or less. Having the Elantra in the mix complicates things as to what the car is costing. I know selling it yourself is a hassle but it might save you a thousand or more. At the very least I'd negotiate the Kia separately. Kias still depreciate much more than Hyundais, so I don't see much difference between the 07 and 08. If you buy this car do so with the idea that you're going to run it into the ground.
