I understand that people may put emotions in their dealings with sales people, whether, these are car salesman, appliance, insurance, or door-to-door knife sales people. The reality of any sale is that MARKET dictates the price. Just like when there is a high demand for a low availability item, the price goes up. It is not gouging or rape, or whatever you call it. No one is holding a gun to the buyer's head, or holding their children at knifepoint until the sale is complete. People part with their money at their own will. Whether you are buying a car, TV, or appliances, you don't just stumble into a store and get whatever the sales person if giving you. You do your research, decide on the features you want, and don't want, decide on the colors, and brands, and most importantly, you decide on the price you are comfortable paying. Have back up plan, as well. If the current market price is outside of your zone, you sit and wait until the price reaches your pricepoint, or move on to the next item on your list. I am sure Sachn is not volunteering 100% of his time for no pay. Somehow he has to make money to pay the bills. So does Fasttex.... Quite frankly, if it were not for a paycheck, I wouldn't have gone to college and gotten a job and then gone back to college to get an advanced degree. So, to expect someone to work for free is quite unrealistic. But, most importantly, you have to remember that MARKET is what sets the prices. If you are not comfortable paying price X for widge Y, but someone else is, then the price will remain. However, if no one is willing to pay price X, then seller will reduce the price until there are buyers interested, until the market is saturated at that price. Seller will have to lower the price, or offer other benefits such as new features to maintain the interest in buyers. But, no where in the scenario was a weapon or force was used to make someone purchase something at the price they were not willing to buy it at.

crap. the reason i thought it was good was because the vehicle itself was $26,555, + 710 destination, so that alone was $27,265. the cost on the site doesn't include installation, supposedly. the prices i've been quoted for the remote starter installed range from $700-900, and for the side molding, pretty much $279-$299. do you know if NJ is offering any incentives? do you think i could get much lower? i called around to places in NY and NJ and the quotes i've gotten for the above range from $28,300-$28,800, and that's with me telling them i had a quote for $28,000. so i was all proud of my quote lol. but if you think i can do better, maybe i should wait?

How much cash would a set of four tires be? Is that a reason they do 42 months? I should have negotiated 36 months. I don't like the idea of these 6 months out of warranty. Tires would not be covered by the warranty after 12 months anyway. The cost of tire will depend on the brand, kind, and quality. You can get really crappy tires for $500, or worse tires for $700, and really good ones for $200. It all depends on tires. I have had good luck with Yokohama tires. They are high quality tires, made in the USA, and are really inexpensive. The last set cost me $200 shipped from Discount Tire. I had it installed at Walmart for $40.

I went with a 42 month lease and the warranty is only good for 36 months. Was it bad I turned down the additional warranty? I really didnt want to add more money to my monthly payment. The dealership actually called and left a message asking a second time if I was sure I didnt want it. Should I just get it for peace of mind? The car comes with 3 years/36,000 miles bumper to bumper warranty, and 5 years/60,000 miles power train warranty. Read The Fine Manual. If you still decide to purchase the extended warranty, if you are not a resident of FL, you can buy from any of the HondaCare resellers in the Honda extended warranty thread. But, chances are that you will not need or won't be able to use the extended waranty, since it does not cover maintenance items such as: brakes, tires, belts, fluids, bulbs... and chances of something major, but not covered by the powertain warranty, failing are slim. The best would be to take the $700 that you would pay for the warranty and set it aside in a separate account. By the time you turn in the vehicle, you are most likely have not needed to tap into that money. Good luck.
2010 EX 4WD

2010 EX 4WDFYI Just [picked up a 2010 EX 4WD for $30,150 (excluding tax/title/tag). I have been researching for over a month and looks like end of the month dealers are looking to unload some pilots (upstate NY). I had (2) other dealers that were willing to sell at invoice ($30,013), but decided to go through a dealership that was closer to where we live (about 30 miles closer). (worth the extra $137 for the convenience and service benfits) Hope information is useful to anyone reading. I negotiated price online and over the phone with outside dealers (contacted 7) and then used quotes to get my price at the local dealership
