Hi guys, I just bought a 2006 330xi (certified pre-owned) which hash the premium, cold weather ans sports package. I added in the NAV. List was 32k. Got it down to 26k after trading in by 97 Honda Prelude (which had a lot of issues including body work). Im kinda proud of the deal I got. The .9% apr from BMW and the two free payments (1000 bucks) doesnt hurt either.. Whatdyathink? Thanks!
BMW inception fees / custom ordering
by joesao on Mon Jan 05 07:17:38 PST 2009
I've been going through some dealers to get quotes on new 328i's (2009) lease and they always want to stuff you with a ~$1,500 inception fee even if you tell them you want to put $0 down. When asked what are those fees they all reply, "You know, first month's payment, tag, title, taxes." But it turns out they're probably making money on those inception fees. What's legitimate to have in those fees? - I'm adding the $825 "destination charge" to the invoice cost of the car - One of the dealers had a $950 "bank fee" inside that inception fee -- what a scam! (Or is this legit?) I also learned that if you currently lease a BMW, you can order your custom car from the dealer at no additional cost (it makes no difference to them -- it's just one fewer vehicle from their allocation), and BMWfs will extend your current lease at your current payment for up to 6 months -- pretty sweet. Also, if anybody could help with Jan '09 money factors on a 2009 328i, leased for 36 months with 10k miles, I would appreciate it. Thanks a lot!
Re: Paid on a 135 2008 lease [PaulBD]

Welcome PaulBD. I would be happy to use BMW's actual lease program to work up a sample payment on the exact car that you are interested in for you. However, in order to do so I need you to provide me with its MSRP and approximate selling price first. You can look up the MSRP and invoice price (which would suffice) over in the New Vehicle Pricing section of Edmunds.com. Let me know what these figures are and I'll crunch some numbers for you. Yatze, I just checked my local dealer here in Fairfield County, CT., they have a 2006 530XIT wagon, with 44,138 miles (!!) and asking $34,900 for the vehicle, CPO. I would say, I have no experience at all like Jayrider, but to me, that $29,000 seems like a deal for a car with only 20K miles? Wow that sounds even cheap to me.
