Chrysler Pacifica Prices Paid and Buying Experience
Re: Considering 2008 Pacifica [ZYB]
$29,000 sounds close for a $39,000 MSRP. You could probably do better, but it sounds like a good place to begin haggling. If the car sits on the lot much longer (and it may), then the price should drop accordingly. It seems like a buyer's market these days, and could be for some time. If you keep the car 7 years, then the steep depreciation shouldn't matter. The steep ... Read More...
Re: Considering 2008 Pacifica [ZYB]
Since you got no replies here, did you find answers to your questions elsewhere? I cannot help you much other than what you probably already know -- Consumer Reports, JD Powers, Edmunds (of course). With the discontinuation of Pacifica, and with Chrysler's major financial deficits (?bankruptcy and parts availability down the road), with Pacifica inability ... Read More...
Considering 2008 Pacifica
I have always liked the Pacifica AWD- it seems like a sturdy car with a lot of features for the money. Now that Chrysler has discontinued it, I am tempted to purchase a loaded AWD Touring version with all the bells and whistles (essentially a loaded Limited without the nameplate). The MSRP is about $39,000, and my local dealer came down to $29,000. Can someone help ... Read More...
Chrysler Pacifica Transmission Problems
Re: Over it... [faschulz]
faschulz: The last Pacifica rolled off the assembly line on Dec. 12. 2007. That was the last of the 2008 PAC's and the PAC is perhaps the best vehicle Chrysler ever made. At least thats my opinion. Any "new PAC' sold today would or should be marked down big time. In Sept 2008 the national sales for all PAC's sold was less than 600. The last stats I saw said there was a 90 ... Read More...
Re: Over it... [faschulz]
Being mice and receptive and repairing the vehicle are two different things. It is like dealing with many companies whose employees apologize over and over again for your inconvenience but they don't have a plan to do anything about it. They are programmed to apologize thinking that by doing so they will make you go away. In March, perhaps, I went to a local Chrysler ... Read More...
Re: pacifica 2007 [katie24]
We are very pleased with our Pacifica Touring AWD ! We have almost 21,000 miles and we bought it Aug 31, 07. Yes we too had the trans. shifting hard and the shuddering problems. We has the TC replaced in Dec. 07. Until the March 08 reflash came out the shudder was still there. After the march 08 reflash there has not been any shudder issue. They did replace the park brake ... Read More...
Chrysler Pacifica Oil Problems
Re: Oil problems have lead to engine problems [hozz]
I read your blog posts and you need to step up to the reality of owning a large, complex mechanical device! You do need to check oil levels every time you fill the gas tank, I am sure that this advice is within the owner's manual. You need to check tire pressures frequently too! This isn't to say that you need to like the exercise, rather that it is a function of ownership ... Read More...

Final thoughts ...
I really loved the Pac even if it was clunking (remember that I invented the "CLUNKING COMES STANDARD" logo ?). But the level of happiness I reached when I traded our 3 years old Pacifica, for a brand spanking new 2008 Pilot SE, doesn't match any level of happiness I felt recently. The unfixable front end was unacceptable for me. The fact that the transmission broke ... Read More...
Another Pacifica for Me
I finally bought a 2008 new Limited with all options on Ebay for $29,000 new looking at many other options. I have a leased 2005 Limited which as been terrific and every way. The 6 speed and 4.0 liter make a big difference. I honestly could not find a better option especially for the price. Considered the new GM crossovers (Saturn, Buick, etc.) but they really were ...
