Review
Purchased the vehicle at 10 miles. Enjoyed the vehicle for almost three years when I started to have problems with the transmission. It would not shift properly. Fixed under extended 75,000 warranty. Few months later tranny went bad again. Bad part about I exceeded the coverage under the warranty and the tranny warranty;( The rest is history
Favorite Features
Enjoyed the way it handled for the time being
Suggested Improvements
Need to make better quality tranny parts.
Wish I would have bought one sooner

Love the truck. Got new in 9/05 Not had a problem with mine. Rides great. No noise, no problems, plenty of power. 14-16 MPG in city 20- 24 Hwy. It's a heavy truck and I am happy with the MPG and the ride. Great truck. Want better MPG get a car but you won't have a truck. Want worse MPG buy a Ford.
Favorite Features
Side storage compartments. The Bermuda Blue paint.
Suggested Improvements
The black plastic spoiler and the bed covers have faded in the sun, spots of white. I was going to take it back to dealer before the warrenty ran out and get new covers and back spoiler but procrastination beat me to it.
Go Avalanche!

Review
Great car with a very good ride. Beats the ride of Tahoe by a wide margin. Very comfortable with many applications and adaptability. Leather seats should be leather. Way too much vinyl for the price. Bose sound system is a joke for the money. Infinity in Mitsubishi's SUV blow it away.
Favorite Features
Adaptability. I am in the real estaste business and I can carry my clients and my equipment at the same time. I also fold it down for extended hunting trips. Great!
Suggested Improvements
Leather seats should mean leather. Bose sound system is way overrated.
3 yrs and still in love

This is Avalanche #2 (and I am about to buy #3). There is no comparing this car to a Ford, Dodge etc. They are not as flexible, nor have the fuel economy that the Avalanche has. 19.9 MPG Hwy, 13.5 city; avg 16.5 MPG. The midgate is terrific. The vehicle is as comfortable as the Escalade yet costs $1,000's less and uses less gas. It is a truck, SUV, SUT, and luxury car all at once (I know, I also drive a BMW 528it). Never had anyone say anything negative about my Avalanche. No major problems, some minor ones, all covered by warranty. Dealer has been great. Mine is Z71 LT w/o cladding; pretty loaded. Z71 is not necessary. Side rails are a must. Don't hesitate to buy, you will love yours too
Favorite Features
Midgate: if you do not own one, you cannot comprehend the versatility of this vehicle. Bose stereo is awesome. Comfort behind the wheel, seating position, the seats are comfortable & steering wheel controls are terrific. Go for a drive, I dare you. This car swallows my kids stuff for college.
Suggested Improvements
Standard back up sensors, better brakes, 100% vehicle locking at push of FOB, higher quality on fiberglass covers & optional colors (black only now). Diesel option would be terrific (increased towing capacity w/o sacrificing fuel mileage).
